The New Times, a Rwandese daily English newspaper reported on 7th July 2010 that the Rwandan government had summoned South Africa’s High Commissioner to Rwanda Gladstone Dumisani Gwadiso to express what the paper said were the Rwanda government’s concerns over the manner in which investigations into the shooting of renegade Gen. Some Mao supporters have written and said a lot of stuff about the 1966 crisis and Kabaka Yekka [KY] in relation to the IPC and Suubi 2011 [a new political pressure group. Ed]. But they are scaring Ugandans on matters they seem not to know very well. Yes, they resolved in their latest meeting to de-campaign Suubi 2011 and IPC but I think they are going about it wrongly. DP-Mao and its supporters are replicating what DP did in 1961 when it refused to take the same position that Mengo was taking. Mengo had called for a boycott of national elections because neither the British administration nor the African political parties would guarantee Buganda’s future position within Uganda. (more…)

The impending prosecution of former Buganda Katikkiro [Prime Minister] Joseph Mulwanyamuli Ssemwogerere for allegedly contravening the country’s social security law has in the last week become the hottest topic for discussion among Ugandans. Like many law abiding Ugandans, we hope that this is “prosecution” and not “persecution”. (more…)

Ofwono can say whatever, but the fact is that if anyone was to fight for ‘lost/stolen’ elections, it would not be Museveni but Ssemogerere. We also know how Museveni and his NRMO have segregated against nationals who are perceived as enemies in every sector of life. I am dying for the day he departs and leaves Uganda in peace. May God hurry up that day!
