The Dictator’s hour of reckoning has arrived

We learn from history that we do not learn from history. Over 20 years ago, the mighty Soviet Union imploded giving birth to a plethora of new nations. Of recent, a lone individual toppled the Tunisian government. The heroic Egyptian people are battling the Mubarak misrule [they have won, Ed]. We are graphically witnessing the painful birth of the next world order, as dictators around the world surrender to the masses. The world as we know it will never be the same.
As the oppressed masses around the world get wizened up, dictators are falling like dominos. There are examples in history of rulers whose empires crumbled, despite the tremendous military and police power at their disposal. Dictators are giants with feet of clay.
Dictatorships and brutality are still rampant in many countries in Africa. The sense of pathos and outrage against brutalities, along with admiration of the calm heroism of unbelievably brave men and women, will dominate world headlines for some time to come. The winds of change have gathered gale-force momentum; the days of dictators and their corrupt policies are about to end.
At the zenith of the highest mountain do those celebrating the coronation of corruption stand basking in self-adulation, mesmerized by their omnipotence, perched above clouds, circling the vast heavens, yet blind do they remain to the plight of the common man, unable to see below through the hazy cloud of arrogance and ego-driven self importance.
Their hour of reckoning has arrived. Generations to come will remember the year 2011. President Kennedy once said: “Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable”. Is Yoweri Museveni listening?
