NSSF gets new Deputy Managing Director

28th March 2011:- The National Social Security Fund [NSSF], the workers organisation that has become infamous for its huge corruption scandals, has appointed Ms Geraldine Ssali as its new Deputy Managing Director.
The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic development, Hon. Syda Bumba made the appointment in accordance with Section 39 of the National Social Security Fund Act. According to a statement released by NSSF Board Chairman Mr. Vincent B. Ssekkono, a total of 34 people applied for the position that was advertised in October last year but Ms. Ssali emerged as the best candidate.
Ms Ssali is professionally qualified for the job and brings to the Fund a wealth of experience in financial management at international level. She has been working as the Head of the Directorate Management Unit (DMU) in Her Majesty’s Treasury [or Ministry of Finance] in the United Kingdom. She formerly worked as the Commercial Services Manager – Transport for London and a Finance Manager – Pre-School learning Alliance (UK).
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Economics and Statistics from Makerere University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and also holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester (UK). END.
