Besigye could lead transition but rules out 2016

The leader of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] party Dr. Kizza Besigye has for the first time dropped a hint about his plans for the future.  Speaking to this reporter, the FDC leader said he is under no illusion that the struggle for democracy in Uganda will be “…a long haul but it will ultimately be won by the people of Uganda”.

Uganda Police Force anti riot officers yesterday surprised protesting opposition leaders and their supporters in the capital city Kampala when they abandoned the usual tear gas and deployed water cannon trucks on the streets which sprayed the protesters with high pressure water laden with pink dye.
