Museveni pig-house lands Masaka man in trouble
By Sharon Tibenda
14th Nov 2011: A joint team of police and military officers from the feared Rapid Response Unit [RRU] in Masaka town have arrested a Masaka pig farmer for using President Yoweri Museveni’s old 2011 election campaign billboards to build a house for his pigs.
Mr. George Kiberu, who said he is a strong NRM supporter, was arrested by police for desecrating Museveni’s old campaign billboards. The Masaka farmer had also used some of Museveni’s old campaign billboards as ‘feeding plates’ for his pigs. Mr. Kiberu protested his innocence, arguing that he had committed no crime because Museveni had already won the elections.
RRU police officers however arrested and detained Kiberu for further questioning. The local NRM Chairman in Masaka told reporters that the President’s old campaign billboards had been stolen and that the case should instead be one of theft.
Mr. Kiberu was still under arrest by the time our reporter left the scene. END. Please login to www.ugandacorrespondent.com every Monday to read our top stories and anytime mid-week for our news updates.
