‘Elections are useless under Museveni’ – Besigye

In what appears to be his clearest statement of intent to never again participate in any election organised by President Yoweri Museveni’s government, Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] Party President Dr. Kizza Besigye has said any future elections would still be “useless” without fundamental reforms.

Former independent presidential candidate Mr. Samuel Lubega, who also leads a breakaway faction of the Democratic Party [DP], has said there is credible evidence to suggest that the national army the Uganda People’s Defence Force [UPDF] is about to mutiny in protest.
