A resident of Masaka town has reported on the ‘Activists for Change’ online facebook forum that Masaka town is in chaos as ‘Walk-to-Work’ protesters fight running battles with a combined police and army force attempting to disperse them with live bullets.
“…It’s raining ‘Hot Iron’ in Masaka. From where i work, the nyendo area is in trouble as soldiers are firing indiscriminately and already the first casualties have been taken to makasa referral hospital.I saw a young man whose leg had been badly shattered and may need immediate amputation”, said Keneth Adrian Kugonza.
Other reports indicate that trigger happy government security operatives also shot dead a 4 year old boy in Masaka. END. Please login to www.ugandacorrespondent.com every Monday to read our top stories and anytime mid-week for our news updates.
