Britain commends Uganda on Somali mission

The British government has commended Uganda for its role in international attempts under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to bring peace to war-torn Somalia.
Britain’s Cabinet Minister for Africa Henry Bellingham made the remarks as he welcomed Uganda’s Vice President Edward Ssekandi to London for the Olympic Games.
“…Uganda is a valued partner for the UK. I commended the Vice President on Uganda’s important contribution to the African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM).” Mr Bellingham said.
The two leaders discussed a range of other issues, including British investment in Uganda and human rights.
“…We agreed that we are committed to further strengthening the relationship between our two countries and I wish the Ugandan team the very best of luck in the Games.” Bellingham added.
